We are pleased to write about the second shear baler installed in Finland this year.
The model is a TAURUS BLULINE ACH873. Electric: with 800 tons of cutting force, a 7200 mm long compression box which utilizes 3 hydraulic cylinders for each compacting wing.
This new shear baler incorporates our latest design feature which is a protective structure assembled over the shear head and alongside the steelwork platform. The shear head covers protect the hydraulic pipes, shear and clamp cylinders; while the shear head side covers protect the lubrication system and the eccentric pins. Further covers along the steelwork platform protect the hydraulic pipes from damage.
The covers are solidly constructed of 10 mm thick iron sheets and supported by a durable tubular frame over both the lateral crankcase and the shear head to provide outstanding protection from falling scrap or accidental knocks.
The protective plates are designed to allow full access to the parts they protect in case of maintenance or repair. The steel plates are hinged on to the frame to allow easy access to the hydraulic cylinders, connecting flanges, pipes, eccentric pins and automatic greasing system.
The covers on the shear head and alongside the steal base frame are removable incase larger repair or maintenance jobs are required.
Our customer requested these extra protective features to protect the shears components from accidents such as falling scrap, collision with the excavator and/or excavator grab and even unfavorable weather conditions.
Conceived by our customer but designed and implemented by our engineers, the extra protection with full access for maintenance is now an option that all Taurus customers can enjoy.
