TAURUS goes again in FINLAND

An ARS 127 TAURUS BLULINE shear baler will be delivered in next days to a scrap yard in Finland.

Shear force 1200 tons, box length mm7200, 3 cylinders per wing able to reach a side compression force each wing of 450 Ton, bale dimension mm 1000 x 700 and an output of 50 tons per hour, there are some technical features of this machine.

Our Finnish costumer needs a faster and performing shear baler, Taurus revised the hydraulic unit installing n.4 electric motors of 110 kw instead of 2 x 160 Kw. The machine has been equipped with some new devices: the shear head is now fitted with a mobile cover to protect the shear holder, this openable screen let him to intervene for maintenance operations without disassemble the structure. The shear head has been reinforced in the ware parts of the cylinders’ guides, this new device avoids the bending of the structure and to protect the cylinders, piston and seals. Taurus has also strengthen the loading hopper structure to prevent it from bended and twisting.

The attention that TAURUS makes on his machines are the result of years in studying and knowledge of the scrap market. The possibility to customize and answer to some customer special requirements and pay attention to all the technical specifications, known only by workers in the sector, allows TAURUS to update and develop all the machines to keep very high standard and performances level.

TAURUS transportable BLULINE shears and balers are equipped with 4 lifting jacks to allow easy loading and unloading from truck trailers (maximum lifting height is 1100 mm) The machine is quick and simple to install and position and is ideally suited to users who need to move their shear regularly or who want to rent it to third parties. As well as shearing scrap, the shear is capable of producing compact bales of mm 900 x 600 dimensions. Bales are ejected from the shear automatically,

Syria on the future

In the Taurus  workshop in Daverio we are finalizing the construction of an oversized shear baler. This machine in question is one of the largest that TAURUS has ever built. We are talking about the BLULINE series TAURUS AGS148: with an impressive cutting force of 1400 Tons, a box length m 8,3 meters and 3 hydraulic cylinders per wing. It can process up to of 60 t/h of scrap. The bale dimension are 1100 x 800. The height of the machines is more than 7 meters,  the total length is over 21 meters and the total weight of the shear baler is 220 tons.

Our costumer is one of the most important steel mills in Syria, equipped with two blast furnaces so they are in need of a versatile oversized shear baler. The TAURUS BLULINE AGS guarantees to process heavy scrap and the heavy duty military vehicles which must be recycled. As well as the AGS model shear baler the same company purchased 2 compacting balers of the TAURUS BLACKLINE BIBLO BB 44 range, These balers are able to reduce the volume and increase the density of the light scrap.
One of the customer’s requests is that the machines to be able to increase the density of light scrap so that during the preheating phase of the blast furnace, the material should not reach a state of fusion which would compromise the operational phases of the furnace. The TAURUS BLACKLINE BB44 balers are able to achieve a density of  greater than 2 t / m3 and have a production rate of 30 – 35 bales of 400mm X 400mm dimension per hour.

The two Biblo balers have already been delivered in the customers yard in Syria, while the AGS model  is nearing completion and the transportation has already been organized. As we know Syria is experiencing a period of significant historical and geopolitical instability, Shipping such a large piece of equipment is a real challange as there is no guarantee of assistance at the port for the reciving port.TAURUS logistics department is in direct contact with the customer to provide the required permits and transport licenses. Accepting new challenges,  technical, commercial or logistical allows TAURUS to increase their skills and be prepared for any situation.

From 22nd  until the 27th of April Taurus will be at ISRI 2017 together with NEWELL RECYCLING EQUIPMET, ISRI is one of the worlds most significant trade fair for recycling and is the voice of the US metals recycling industry representing about 1,300 companies operating in over 4000 locations.

Although heavily geared towards metals recycling, ISRI also caters to other recycling sctors in different such as paper, plastic, glass, rubber and more.The ISRI  federation also provides education and support to its members by providing information from analysis and in-depth studies of the US recycling market and educating them on current legislation.
