TAURUS shears and balers are designed and manufactured to minimize maintenance requirements. TAURUS shear balers are largely manufactured in house using the latest manufacturing technologies and experience gained from over 50 years of building the worlds best shears and balers.
The TAURUS factory uses state of the art precision tools and CNC machinery with the latest engineering techniques to improve the quality of coupling and to avoid secondary modifications during the assembling process which could otherwise lead to weak points.
One example of a preventative feature incorporated on TAURUS shears is the automatic lubrication system which continuously provides lubricating grease to the shear head. The operator needs to keep an eye on the grease reservoir located at the rear of the shear and to top this up on a regular basis. Rotating or replacing warn blades and ensuring that the clearance between the moving and static blades is kept within the prescribed tolerances will not only guarantee maximum production rates but will also significantly increase the working life of the shear.
Effective and regular maintenance is a key point to keeping a TAURUS shear running efficiently and trouble free for many years. After installing a newly purchased shear or baler the machine is assembled and thoroughly tested in our factory before it is given our seal of approval and sent to the customer. After the onsite instillation our own in-house technicians again thoroughly test the shear or baler and make the adjustments required for each individual customers unique requirements. The customer then receives a thorough training on the proper use and maintenance of their machine.
All Taurus customers are invited to our factory for a further preventative maintenance and consumable parts replacement course. This informative course will teach the customer the finer points of blade rotation, proper greasing techniques and what to look out for when checking wear and tear parts for replacement. Customers who complete the course will have a thorough understanding of their machine and will be able to effectively perform maintenance tasks, which will prevent unscheduled downtime and extend the life of their machine for many extra years.
