Case History TAURUS ACL 772 CORSAIR shear baler

THE CHALLENGE

Our costumer owns a steel mill in Basra, which is one of the biggest in Iraqi. Their current machine was too lightweight and was unable to handle the increase of demolition scrap generated by the ongoing war; furthermore, their new requirements were for the shear to be mobile, which would give them greater flexibility.

APPROACH

The C. E G sales office was contacted by the Iraqi steel mills purchasing manager. C . E G.´s  Sales Manager, together with Ing. Colombo listened to their requirements and evaluated what the best solution could be to meet their production needs.

The C. E G. sales manager traveled to Jordan to meet with the CEO of the steel mill to fully understand their requirements and discuss the best solution.

After careful analysis of the customer’s needs both CEG and the client agreed on a transportable TAURUS shear from the ACL range.

The TAURUS BLULINE ACL772 Corsair is a transportable shear baler with 700 tons of cutting force and perfectly suited to their unique requirements. The powerful shear can easily process the heavier scrap that they now need to process and being portable gives them the flexibility to move the shear to where it is needed.  Furthermore, an integrated heat reduction system ensures that the shear can operate all day without overheating in the challenging weather condition characterized by high temperature.

Corsair ACL shear balers are equipped with 4 lifting jacks to enable easy and fast loading and unloading from a mobile trailer. Two additional hydraulic jacks at the rear of the shear provide extra stability during use. The shear baler can be used on any hard flat surface and is easy to set up and operate making it particularly suitable for recycling companies with several yards or to rent out to third parties.

RESULTS

The customer is very satisfied and is using the shear baler on a daily basis. Being mobile means that the customer can bring the shear to where the scrap needs to be processed rather than hauling the scrap to the shear and thanks to the integrated heat reduction system there is no down time required when the hot desert like temperatures soar.
