ENGLAND: TESTING OF A NEW TAURUS BLULINE ACS107 DIESEL SHEAR BALER

bac3441d-d5b9-49b1-bac9-2a6ee1192850

A new TAURUS BLULINE ACS107 Diesel baler and shear has been tested today in England. The ACS represents the traditional TAURUS BLULINE range with its original oscillating lid compression box. The ACS shears balers do not require foundations as they are equipped with a support structure in which the pipes of the hydraulic system run. The support frame is in two interconnected parts: one to support the head and the box, the other of the motors, hydraulic oil tank and hydraulic system. But let’s see some technical characteristics: cutting force 1050 tons, length of the case 7200 mm, size of the pack 880×600 mmm, n.3 cylinders per lid, diesel engine from Hp 450. The machine is complete with remote control, protection of the feeding cylinder, vibration damping plates, loading hopper, serrated ware plates, operator’s cabin and  shear head lateral protections, steelwork platform lateral protection.

A TRULY EXCEPTIONAL TRANSPORTATION

WhatsApp Image 2019-09-06 at 10.44.11(1)

Yesterday morning a TAURUS BLULINE ARH 117 baler and shear was shipped to our customer. Planning the transportation of the equipment was not straight forward. The baler and shear in question was heavy, voluminous and the scrap yard where it was to be located required special attention and a savvy understanding of transportation with exceptional vehicles. Once on the motorway, the machine had to enter the village, crossing the railway and a bridge whose size did not allow the passage of exceptional vehicles. For this reason, the transport was organized well in advance, special permits were requested and several inspections were carried out with the TRANSPORTER and CRANE DRIVER team. The machine was unloaded near the bridge, then it was lifted and carried for 400 meters with a crane to the customers site. The success of this transport was a result of a great team work and collaboration between the transportation providers and TAURUS.

TAURUS: SMALL TIPS THAT WILL INCREASE THE USEFUL LIFE OF YOUR SHEAR BALER.

manutenzione-programmata

The maintenance operations of a TAURUS shear baler are not limited to small measures to be carried out one-off but to increase the life cycle of a shear baler maintenance operations are divided into: daily, WEEKLY, monthly, annual. Ordinary maintenance makes it possible to maintain and intervene on the machine before an unexpected stop are reached.
WEEKLY maintenance includes checks on the SHEAR, on the FEEDING BOX and RIGID / FLEXIBLE PIPES.
SHEAR: check that screws are fastened, in particular:
– Fastening screws of adjustment eccentrics (TAURUS PATENTED);
– Fastening of registration gibs of the mobile blade holder;
– Fastening of screws fixing the cylinder to the shear;
– Fastening of the screws of the flanges of the shear cylinder feeding pipes;
– Fastening of the support ring of the mobile blade holder on the shear cylinder system;
– Fastening of the screws of limit switches of the shear and clamp;
– Fastening of the mobile and fixed blades screws
FEEDING BOX AND MAIN CYLINDER
– Fastening of the screws of limit switches of the feeding box (lid) and main cylinder
– Fastening of the screws of the wing cylinders and main cylinder
– Fastening of the screws of the flanges that connect rigid and flexible pipes
– Check the condition of flexible pipes and joints tightness
RIGID AND FLEXIBLE PIPES
– Check that flanges screws are tight
– Check joints tightness
– Check collar screws and pipes fastening, in order to avoid vibrations and water hammering

6 steps that increase the life cycle of your shear

tecnico-per-manutenzione

Routine maintenance, also known as ordinary maintenance or preventative maintenance, effectively managed on shear balers ensures the smooth running of the machine. It, further, allows to identify and/or predict any components that may require replacement, therefore, avoiding potential downtime as a result of a component failure.

But what are the maintenance operations that need to be performed? How often do inspections need to be carried out?  What should I check to ensure smooth running of the shear and baler and consequently a longer service life?

TAURUS details routine maintenance operations and routine inspections as daily, weekly, monthly and for certain components, on an hourly basis.

Daily Maintenance and Daily Inspections covers six simple tasks that, if carried out regularly, will allow you to increase the useful life of your TAURUS shear and baler.

  • Lubrification System: Inspect and check the correct lubrication of the hinges, the lid hinges, the clamp, the shear, the rod and the flanges cylinders lids.
  • Hydraulic Oil System: Inspect for oil leaks in the hydraulic power station, the pipes, the fittings, the hoses, the flanges, the valves and cylinders. Make sure that any screws and fittings are well tightened.
  • Oil Level: Check oil level in the hydraulic tank, in case of low level, top up utilizing the same oil.
  • Cylinder Anchorage Section: Inspect for dust, dirt, scrap and impurities of any kind that may prevent the correct operation of the cylinders. Check that the return seat of the feed cylinder is free of any material and remove any objects/material that may obstruct and wear the rod.
  • Security & Safety Measures: Check the correct functioning of the limit switches and emergency stop buttons.
  • Electrical Elements: Visual inspection of electric cables and electrical conductors.

IRELAND: A NEW TAURUS BLULINE ACH773 DIESEL

IRLANDA2

A new TAURUS BLULINE ACH773 Diesel shear baler has recently been installed in Ireland. Our customer needed a machine that could produce E.L.V., replacing his old baler and shear that no longer met his production needs. After contacting our local distributor and discussing with him which solution might be best suited to his needs, the choice fell on a TAURUS BLULINE ACH873 diesel press and shear, characterized by: cutting force 700 tons, case length 7200 mm and on each cover an over-stroke and 3 cylinders. From the date of purchase to the delivery of the machine, the customer would have had to face a production stop. To this end, TAURUS provided the customer with a machine that would allow him to continue working while waiting for the delivery of his new shear baler.

FINLAND ACS 873 – A TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED SHEAR BALER

XXWX5016

A new TAURUS BLULINE ACS873 electric shear baler has been tested this week in FINLAND. A machine that has certain technical features, such as: cutting force 800 tons, box length 7200 mm with 40 mm hardox on the inner surfaces of the lids in direct contact with the material to be processed; over stroke on both lids and n. 2 electric motors from KW 132 (each). Our customer also needed a remote control that presented customized settings such as cutting length.

The new generation of TAURUS shear baler has the remote control functions  programmed and configured according to customer needs with the following settings all possible remotely: cutting length setting, multiple compression setting modes (high, medium or low level) and remote pre-compression functionality. Preset programs mean that many functions such as pre compression, compression and cutting cycles now work autonomously from the operator. Labor costs can be reduced by 50% as there is no need for an independent shear operator.

The touch screen or control panel allows you to schedule maintenance stops in a timely manner to reduce down time. Although there are many preset programs the operator can intervene at any time to fine tune the working parameters for optimal performance. The control panel constantly monitors and optimizes the compression and cutting process for higher production rates. Taurus´s many years of hands on experience with our customers has allowed us to preset different automated programs depending on the type of material being processed. Individual programs such as shear stroke setting, partial cut rate, pre-compression setting, relative and actual cycle timing can all be selected simply by pressing a button.

Finally, the Remote Service System (RSS) allows the after sales office to detect any abnormalities reported by the shear, which means they can intervene in a timely and effective manner to reduce down time. In most cases there is no need for a Taurus technician to travel to the customers yard. Special customer requests, fine tuning or program upgrades are now all done remotely.
