Our costumer owns a scrap yard in Pennsylvania, USA. They have an older model 500 Ton shear manufactured by Taurus but sold under a different US manufacturers name. The customer contacted our US distributor because the shear needed a service and they were not satisfied with the after-sales assistance provided by the US manufacturer.
The C. E G. after sales department and our new distributor quickly and competently completed the service to the customers complete satisfaction.
Due to the renewed contact with the customer and the competence shown during the service of the older shear the customer decided to involve C. E G. in their new project which required an up to date shear with increased shear force.
The C. E G. Sales Manager went to the customer’s yard to present the TAURUS CH872 shear baler. The 800 tons of shear forced coupled with a large 7.2 meter compression chamber was the right machine to process the demolition scrap which the customer was now getting more regularly. Along with the latest design features this shear baler was also equipped with an Allan Bradley integrated control system as well as an oil heating system to counter the effects of the harsh Pennsylvanian winters.
Our American costumer is completely satisfied and has full confidence in TAURUS. Both of his shear balers are working perfectly and at full capacity. With the addition of the 800-Ton CH872 shear he can now take on and process lucrative demolition scrap and enjoy increased revenues.

Our customer from Modena used to rent by third parties, mechines to press zinc scrap. Management and transport costs, also labor and fuel costs will not justify the convenience, especially when to be a burden on the company is the renting of more than one machine.
It is aimed at C. E G. through the advice of a recycler’s friend. After a series of meetings with the sales department to define the TAURUS machine best suited to his needs, he bought a baler COMPACT model PH 52. A quick press and able to process bulky materials. In fact, thanks to the TAURUS traditional swinging wing system, with the new geometry of the wings, the increased lever arms, and the appropriate position of the cylinders, have allowed him to work bulky material and to reduce the time of preparation of the scrap.
Thanks to the TAURUS COMPACT baler, our customer is able to reduce Transport, labor, fuel and operator costs of three different machines, has increased its production because at the same working time, the PH52 processes more material.

Our customer from Milan province, with his thirty years of experience in the scrap market, had an old and outdated shear, poorly performing, heavy and slow which also complained the expensive maintenance costs and the post- sales service completely absent. The refurbishment of the shear would be too expensive, and in any case would not have guaranteed the shearing output of the bulk and particularly tenacious scrap that he needed to process.
He decides to turn to Taurus after the advice of one of his collaborators, also because many of his customers and competitors are already using TAURUS machines.
After several meetings with the seller, the client visits the C. E G. factory to meet the technical department and together study the adequate machine for his needs. The machine suggested by our technicians is a ACH117.
The ACH series shear balers are machines suitable for pressing and shearing bulky material, which comes from the collection and from demolition scrap.
To meet the needs of its customers, all TAURUS machines are studied, designed and subsequently all its components are directly worked at the mechanical workshop, C. E G. located in Daverio.
“The shear balers TAURUS are mechanically machined on N.C. work center for high-precision, to improve the quality of coupling without subsequent adjustments during installation, to ensure easy replacement of its components and breaking down as much as possible maintenance costs “(Head office. Technical TAURUS).
Thanks to the shear baler TAURUS ACH117, our customer can work different type of scrap without any cutting rejection and till now he hasn’t asked any particular maintenance work.

Our costumer situated in Rovaniemi, Finland already owned 2 TAURUS shear balers. Due to expansion and because they were getting more demolition scrap, they needed a bigger and stronger shear.
They had two challenges for us to overcome. Challenge number one was their remoteness. Rovaniemi lies just below the Arctic Circle. It is one of Europe’s most remote cities, the nearest major city is Helsinki which lies 900KM to the south. Because of its remoteness, it is a big challenge for them to get spare parts and aftersales service.
The second challenge is overcoming the severe cold in winter. For at least 4 months of the year our costumer is covered in snow with the average temperature in January around minus 25 degrees, some days it gets right down to minus 35 degrees.
We offered to our client the latest model ACH973E shear baler with 900 tons of shear force and a 7,3 meter long squeeze box. The shear baler was fitted with a remote service feature and modem so that if there are any problems a C. E G. technician can dial in to the shears computer system remotely and make adjustments or repairs from the C. E G. head office in Italy. Most issues can be resolved remotely without the need to fly over a technician. This saves time and money.
The second challenge was solved by installing a cold weather pack, which includes fitting oil heaters to the hydraulic oil tank. The oil heaters quickly bring the oil up to a good working temperature allowing our client to keep working right throughout winter.
The costumer is very happy with their new shear. The extra cutting power from the 900 Tons of shear force means that they can easily process all of the material that comes to them, even heavy demolition scrap.
Recently they had to make a minor adjustment to the closing angle of a compression wing. In the past they would have had to wait for a technician to fly to them but now the adjustment was done by our technicians remotely from Italy within a few hours of them calling us.
“I am very happy with my new TAURUS shear” says the co-owner. “Because this is my third shear from TAURUS I know they are built tough and work reliably in the harsh Scandinavian climates.” Ajardos is the exclusive TAURUS distributor for Finland.
